What are Spectra Lasers ?
What are they?
Laser instruments from Spectra Precision are advanced devices designed to project precise reference lines or points, or to measure distances accurately on construction sites and surveying projects. These tools enable reliable alignment, elevation angle and distance control across a wide range of environments, from open fields to confined indoor spaces.
With a laser system in place, you can quickly establish level planes, plumb points, straight lines and accurate distance measurements where traditional tools (tape measures, levels, basic optical instruments) would be slower or less precise. Whether you’re aligning poured concrete slabs, excavating trenches, or controlling corridor alignments, these laser tools deliver repeatable and efficient workflows.
Functionality
Spectra Precision laser systems operate by projecting a highly accurate laser reference either as a rotating beam, straight line, point or pulse—depending on the model. This beam can be used to determine alignment, level, slope, plumb position or distance. Some models include motorised rotation for 360° coverage, while others project fixed lines or points for targeting or layout work.
Distance-measuring units calculate measurements by emitting a laser signal and measuring how long it takes to reflect back, enabling accurate point-to-point readings. Many instruments feature automatic self-levelling or grade control, though some models are manually adjusted depending on the application.
Compatible receivers and sensors detect the laser in real-time to provide visual or digital feedback for construction, alignment, and surveying tasks. This functionality enables fast, reliable and repeatable results whether you’re measuring, aligning, setting out or checking precision across a worksite.
